Berlin Leadership Insights Program - September 2025
EUREF-Campus Berlin
The EUREF-Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg has been developed since 2007 on the former site of the historic gasworks and has become a living laboratory for the energy transition. Covering 5.5 hectares, the campus combines landmark-protected brick buildings such as the iconic Gasometer with modern, energy-efficient architecture, creating a forward-looking urban quarter for work, research, education, and mobility.
With its climate-neutral energy supply based on renewables and a smart microgrid that has met Germany’s 2050 climate targets since as early as 2014, the campus is both a showcase and a testing ground for sustainable solutions. Today, more than 150 companies, start-ups, and research institutions with around 7,000 employees work here on innovative projects in the fields of energy, mobility, and smart city development.
In addition to office and laboratory space, the campus also hosts venues for conferences and events, including the Gasometer, as well as restaurants and educational facilities. For visitors, the site offers the opportunity to experience the transformation of an industrial monument into a modern innovation district and to gain insights into how business, science, and politics collaborate in shaping a climate-friendly future.
