Berlin Leadership Insights Program - September 2025

Kahal Adass Jisroel Synagogue

The Kahal Adass Jisroel Synagogue is part of the historic Adass Jisroel community, which was first founded in 1869 as a traditional Orthodox congregation in Berlin. The synagogue building was originally constructed in 1910, suffered destruction during the November Pogroms in 1938, and was restored and rededicated in 2005. Since then, it has once again served as a synagogue and study house, carrying forward the community’s legacy in the heart of Berlin.

Today, the site at Brunnenstraße 33 in Berlin-Mitte is home not only to the synagogue but also to a kindergarten, school, and community center, making it an active hub of Jewish life in the city. The congregation continues to emphasize education, religious practice, and community building while preserving its distinct Orthodox tradition.

When visiting, please note that no outside food may be brought onto the premises in order to respect kosher practices. For security reasons, ID checks by security staff at the entrance may also be required.
